On My Newsfeed

This week has been insane! I've been so busy with work and life that I feel like I haven't had a minute to breath. I did get some time to stop and smell the flowers though... at whole foods! Same thing, right?!

I swear there were better arrangements but I just adore the vibrant pink flower.

Here are the things I'm loving this week:

1. This duck | I love animal videos more that most people. I get to the point where I watch the ones I like over and over again! I especially love how excited this duck gets when his owner comes home from school on the bus. When the little boy gives the duck kisses?! I just melt! I love it!

2. This airport show | Broadway is one of those experiences I love but haven't experienced very much of. If I lived in New York you can bet I'd be at the theater every week. But living nowhere near New York makes going to the theater a little harder. This impromptu Broadway sing along in the airport is way too awesome for words!

3. This workout | I absolutely love this workout. I don't love the stair master but this workout has me sweating almost immediately. I feel like this one works really well too. I'm always sore afterward.

4. This book | Am I the only one who gets really excited about new autobiographies? Yes? I'm okay with that. I've put this book on the back burner for a while just because I figured it was more important to get through some of the trendier books for a while and then go through my biography list. Well, the trendy books are not as interesting to me. I was really stuck in a funk with a book and I ended up rereading the first chapter about ten times before I decided I should look at reading something else. I was really interested in this book because I love Cary Elwes as an actor and I especially love actors views on particular projects (another great book is Home by Julie Andrews. Shes amazing). I'm really loving it right now.

5. This lotion | I have the driest skin. Like, seriously. This stuff is so amazing for adding moisture and it makes you smell amazing for such a long time! Go to your local lush and try it out. Life changing!

Let's Talk About Skin, Baby

I feel like my skin care routine changes every couple of weeks. Am I the only one? It just seems like everytime I fall in love with a product I discover a new love or my skin doesn't love my current routine or whatever the case may be. It has taken me a while but I think I finally have a routine that is effective for my skin type and is something I look forward to doing everyday.

Let's first start by intriducing my skin. I have dry skin that doesn't break out often but sometimes there will be a bump or two when I wake up around a certain time of the month. Other than that my skin is pretty low key. Sometimes though it can seem like a warzone.

Now, because I'm dealing with tempermental skin I sometimes use different products for different problems. Let me explain. I have a routine for when my skin is acting normal and one for when it's not. Make sense? If not leave me a comment and I'll clear this all up for you!

Here are my favorite skin care products ever...

What I use reguardless of how my skin feels:

1. Clarisonic | I use my Clarisonic every single day. The one in the picture is actually not the one I own. Mine is pink giraffe print! Anyway, everytime I use the Clarisonic my skin feels really clean verses just using my hands or a washcloth where I feel like my skin is not half as clean.

2. ExfoliKate | Oh Kate Somerville. She is a cruel one. The products made be Kate Somerville are marvelous BUT really expensive. Although, this is one of those products that I can justify the price because of the way my skin feels afterward. It makes your skin feel so smooth and soft. I only use this one once or twice a week because will do more damage than good if you overuse it.

3. Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask | This stuff is AMAZING! It sticks to your lips like glue. When you put it on at night you wake up the next morning with it still on your lips and not all over your pillow. Amazing. Your lips feel pretty amazing afterward too!

4. EOS Lip Balm | This one is a total fad thing. I don't know if it does any good or not but it smells really good and it looks cute so what's the problem?

Good Day Routine:

1. First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser | Starting with the top left corner we have my favorite skin cleanser. I feel like this cleanser can be used by women with dry skin and women with oily skin. It's really light but it cleans really well. When I use this product my skin feels really clean and fresh.

2. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream | This stuff is the absolute best moisturizer ever. But it's not just that, you can use it everywhere! Even on your kids! But seriously, it isn't sticky, it's not oily, it makes your skin feel soft, smooth, and so healthy. I really really love this one. AND it's only $12 for the tube. Seriously, how could you not love this stuff?

Bad Skin Routine:

1. Origins Checks and Balances | This product comes from a brand that I absolutely adore. Origins is powered by nature and proven by science. They don't claim to be anything they aren't and that's something I really respect. Anyway, Checks and Balances is one of those deep cleaning products that really helps take care of those oily days. They're rare but they happen. This product balances dry and oily skin which is something I really need sometimes.

2. Origins United States | Sometime I use this in the morning when I don't need a deep clean but I need to get rid of some of the nastiness from the night before. I also use this with Checks and Balances for a deeper clean.

3. Origins Night-a-Mins | I saved a great product for last! This stuff is amazing! It is a thicker moisturizer which is something I need if I just got rid of the oil on my skin. I use this a lot during the winter or if I jsut did my checks and balances routine. It smells great and I notice a huge difference when I use this moisturizer with this routine.

If anyone has any tips and tricks please leave them in the comment section!

Birthday Wish List

My birthday is just around the corner, woo hoo! as usual, I'm having a hard time trying to tell people what exactly I want for my birthday. It seems like the older I get the harder it is to ask for things. I feel like I shouldn't ask for material goods because I work for a living and can afford some things. I might not buy them for myself but I can eventually afford them. When it comes to asking for things I try to choose one thing to ask for when is a bigger item and maybe a few smaller things.

Here's an little list of the things I would love to receive for my birthday.

1. Ray Ban Aviators | Ray Bans are really expensive for sunglasses but the quality is worth it. I have been drooling over these sunglasses for a while. I don't know why but I prefer the "droopier" style of aviators to the rounder style.

2. Gift Cards | Coming back to work for Disney has been great and also not so great. I took a major pay cut when I started and it's not the best thing in the world to have to deal with. Especially when I still have bills to pay. Getting gift cards to my favorite places to shop go a long way.

3. Tory Burch Cross Body | I'm a big fan of cross body bags. I especially love this one because it's nylon so it'll last forever but also because it's navy which is timeless. Also, how could I pass up Tory Burch?!

4. Dior Blooming Bouquet | I have been looking for a new signature sent for a while and I think I found it. I've been wearing Daisy by Marc Jacobs for a long time and I just feel like it's time for a change. Blooming Bouquet is that perfect scent that isn't too sweet and isn't too floral. It's a really refreshing in between scent and I have fallen in love with it.

5. Art | I am particular about art but I do love receiving a piece of art as a gift especially when it was something I had previously said I liked and someone paid attention to it. Anything by Paper Rifle Co. is a favorite of mine!

6. Pandora Charms | This one is one of those gifts that keep on giving. I love Pandora charms. I never used to be a big fan and then I got my bracelet. Holy smokes am I addicted! Now that they have Disney Parks Exclusive charms and bracelets I'm even more in love. I could seriously sell those all day long! It's so fun! I particularly love this one, this one, and this one. The park exclusive bracelet is so adorable too! And my favorite non disney charms are this one, this one, and this one.

On My Newsfeed

This week has been really exciting! I finally started training. Lots of dejavu going on! I'm remembering all of the reasons I loved working for this company again. I've also been trying to keep up with friends I've either lost touch with or haven't seen in three years.

Loving this message so much!

Here are a few things I've been enjoying this week...

1. This is everything | I love Lauren Conrad. I think she is one of the most influential women of this generation. She has built an empire out of a crazy TV show and followed her dreams in the process. I also love her sense of fashion BUT can't even come close to affording it. This video really helps with that!

2. This collection at Nordstrom | Has anyone heard of them? I love all of the tee shirts! They're so cute and they look really comfy. I'm dying for the Happy Camper one but it sold out already :(

3. Beyonce and Duck Tales | Need I say more? Hilarious!

4. Buzzfeed Vidoes | I've been watching buzzfeed videos videos like they're going out of style. My favorites are the ones where foreigners try our food for the first time. The Aussies kill me!

5. This picture | I love finding new motivating pictures on Pinterest. I'm pretty sure my most pinned pictures are the motivational ones. I can't help it! They really make me smile!

These are the things I've been loving this week. If anyone has any suggestions on things I should check out leave me a comment!

Documentaries

I spend a lot of time watching documentaries. Its really interesting to me to see what interests others and how passionate they are. There are so many of them out there. Some are shinning light on an issue, some are focusing on a person, place or thing, some are really just for fun.

Here are a few of my favorites, all of which can be found on Netflix:

1. Burts Buzz | This is seriously one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. It was inspiring, informational, comical, heart warming, and everything in between. It follows the life of the founder of Burts Bees. This man is hilarious but also very inspirational. He has this huge and vast empire and all he wants to do is live on the land with his dog. It really shines a light on things that are important in life. I recommend this one to everyone.

2. First Love | In this documentary we follow the lives of three Australian surfers. I had no clue exactly what went into surfing for a big company like Billabong or Roxy but in this documentary you really see that these girls are passionate and driven.

3. Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorfs | I absolutely love shopping. It's one of my best hobbies! This documentary takes a look and the infamous Bergdorf store in New York City. It shows the hard work that goes into the holiday windows and explains why Bergdorfs is so unique in the shopping world.

4. Hungry for Change | There are very few things I really don't care to hear about. One of them is where my meat comes from. I like staying ignorant about this subject. But in this documentary they don't really shed a negative light on that side of the food industry. Instead they focus on the health benefits on an all natural green diet. I need to add more greens into my diet and this documentary helped motivate that.

5. Ballerina | Ballet is one of those arts I very thoroughly enjoy. I'm not an art person. I'm terrible at it and quite frankly when I ask "what is it" I don't want to hear "what ever you interpret it to be". But ballet, I get it. It's a beautiful art form. This documentary takes a look at what the life of a prima ballerina is like.

6. Happy | Happiness is something we all strive to have. What is happiness? What contributes to every ones happiness? How do we strive to make others happy? This documentary really shows the difference between real happiness and temporary happiness and what different cultures consider a happy life.

7. Inside: Lego | I never would have thought tiny building blocks could inspire me. But they totally do in this short documentary! If you have 21 minutes, check this one out. It's really interesting to see the inside of a company that has its hand in so many different fields.

8. Being Elmo | I have always been a fan of the Muppet's. I could never be a puppeteer though. In Being Elmo you follow the life of the man who plays Elmo. It's really strange but also delightful to see someone really cherish his job so much.

9. Please Subscribe | In Please Subscribe you follow the lives of Vloggers on Youtube. Its weird. I never would have thought someone could make a living from getting drunk and cooking in front of a camera but alas, someone has. Its really a cool documentary about some really cool people.

10. Anything TED | Oh TED. I have followed the TED Talk podcast for a while now and I love it. People are so freaking interesting it's crazy! I find myself watching video after video of these really fascinating people and what they have experienced. Love TED. Love it.

I am always looking for new documentaries. Which ones do you like?

What I'm Loving on Netflix

I am a Netflix fanatic! When I lived in Virginia I didn't have cable and didn't even notice because of my Netflix habits. It's gotten to the point where I automatically turn it on when I turn my TV on. Having cable now I still use Netflix 75% of the time!

Here are the shows and movies I'm loving the most right now on Netflix:

1. Friends | Who doesn't love friends? If you answered "me" then we can't be friends anymore. Just kidding! Kinda... But really, it's one of those shows you can relate to because each of the characters has a quality you possess or you know someone who possess their quality. Rachel's love of fashion (and we both worked for Ralph Lauren at one point!) Ross's nerdiness, Chandler's sarcasm, Monica's insecurity, and Phoebe's carefree attitude.

2. Mad Men | I die. The clothes, the sassiness, the drama. I just love this show! I will admit, I can only take it in small doses because each episode has a lot to take in but it really is a great show.

3. The Disney Movies | Duh. I love that they've added a ton of Disney classics to the lineup. I really enjoy having them as background noise when I'm getting ready or doing something.

4. Cheers and Fraiser | Cheers and Fraiser are those shows you remember. I love the characters and their dilemmas. They were both really great shows that are loved by a lot of people. I especially love spending a day rewatching some of my favorite episodes or turning one on before bed.

5. The Documentaries | I'll get more specific in another post but I really love a good documentary. Discovering new ones is one of my favorite things ever.

6. Chefs Table | This is a Netflix Original documentary series about world renowned chefs. It's actually really interesting, I promise! There are only 6 episodes and each one is about a different chef. I really like hearing about the different stories and how they got to where they are.

7. Last Man Standing | Another favorite show. This is a Tim Allen show about a man living in Colorado with his wife and three daughters. I really like that this show takes a conservative approach as apposed to most that take a more liberal approach. It's surprisingly refreshing.

8. America's Book of Secrets | Addicted. This show is so interesting. It's not for everyone, but those who love learning about this great country need to jump on this show. It's really awesome!

9. Glimore Girls | I have this strange ability to sense when a show is coming out on Netflix before it arrives. How does this work? I buy the entire series a week before the announcement of course! Most recently this happened with Gilmore Girls. The show is really well written though. I do not blame the writers for quitting because the scripts themselves are a third larger than most shows because of the amount of dialogue and the fast pace of the show itself. That must have been exhausting!

I always love recommendations too so if you have any leave them in the comments for me!
